Dr. Kavuru Naga Siri, Dr. Suresh Kanna

Abstract

Internuclear ophthalmoplegia is a manifestation of intrinsic brain stem disease which produces ischemia
of demyelination of nerve. The most common cause is multiple sclerosis and cerebrovascular diseases.
Rare causes account for about 11%. Incidences are equal in males and females. It is extremely rare in pediatric population. We
report a case of internuclear ophthalmoplegia following acute diarrheal episode.
